Books & tips for witch parents

Dear witch parents, I hope this blog can help you a little with ideas on how to let your kids learn with you about witchcraft or beliefs. Every kid is a blank sheet about the world, we can show them everything to love the world even more.

Religion and culture

To teach your kids about your religion and culture you need to think if you only want to show yours only or others too. I've been raised knowing more religions and cultures than my own. I am always thankful for that cause it taught me to be open-minded about every belief. Being mixed race helped with that a little to, accepting myself and the cultures around me.

How I see it is that you learn to love your culture more through witchcraft. With every myth and old folklore magick, it's the learn to work with it and accept it. So when i have kids i want them to be raised like I was raised, I know not every parent can say that but I have the deepest respect for you to change that for your kids.

What do I teach the children?

Teaching your kids about your beliefs is very important, but it is always good to teach them about others too. Witchcraft stays a practice but our beliefs are different for every person. To respect every witch is important to let them learn about other cultures or beliefs.

  1. Meditation: We can start teaching kids to meditate at an early age, They can create their own little space to do that even. It would be great for their future self to know how to meditate to bring themself to ground and be more aware.
  2. Show them other religions: Teaching kids at a young age about other religions makes them more aware of other beliefs. Show them you respect other beliefs so they won't hate everything that is different from theirs, it makes them more open-minded.
  3. Use deities stories as bedtime stories: Some stories are heavy for kids but you can have a children's version of them too. To let them learn about all kinds of deities, even yours, so that they know and love their stories.
  4. Celebrating the wheel of the year: Let your kids learn about the wheel of the year with stories of why it started. Let them do activities in connection to the holiday.
  5. Nature adventures: Let them learn about the animals, trees, plants, and crystals around your area making it an adventure from it. So that they love nature even in their adulthood. you can even have fun picnics in the woods and make it magickal
